Manzhouli

Manzhouli borders Mongolia in the west and Russia in the north. It is the largest land port city in China. With an area of 732 square kilometers and a population of 300,000, it is home to more than 20 ethnic groups, such as Mongolia, Han, Hui, Korean, and Russia. 

Manzhouli is located in the center of the Northeast Asian Economic Circle. It is the strategic hub and the most important and fastest international passage of the first Eurasian continental bridge. It is known as the "Window of East Asia". It is the largest land port in China and undertakes more than 65% of the land transportation tasks of China-Russian trade. Manzhouli is internally backed by the three provinces of Northeast of China, connected with the Bohai Rim region, and has a vast economic hinterland. It connects the Siberian Railway of Russia to Rotterdam of the Netherlands, where the area along the railway is the most populous and resourceful area in Russia, with excellent economic and geographical conditions. 

Manzhouli has always played an important role in the country's opening up strategy. In 1992, it was approved by China Government as one of the first open cities along the border. Since the border opening up, Manzhouli Port has transported 310 million tons of import and export materials, handed over tariffs and collected taxes of more than 72 billion yuan to the state, and made important contributions to China's reform, opening up and modernization. In 2010, it was determined by the State Council as a national key development and opening pilot area.

Manzhouli Sino-Russian Mutual Trade Zone is a national-level development zone approved by the State Council in 1992, with a total area of 138.8 square kilometers, of which 0.2 square kilometers is a cross-border open border area connected with the Russian Federation. It is the first mutual trade zone on the Sino-Russian border established through joint consultation between the Chinese and Russian governments. At present, the mutual market trade zone has preliminarily formed a spatial layout integrating international railway ports, international highway ports and international air ports, as well as three industrial clusters of export processing, trade tourism and warehousing logistics. It has become a distribution center for the flow of people, logistics, capital and information in the economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia.
