Hinggan League

Hinggan League ("Hinggan" is a Manchu language, which means "hill") is located in the northeast of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and in the transition zone from the Great Xing'an Mountains to the Songnen Plain. The northeast and southeast are adjacent to Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces respectively; The south, west and north are respectively connected with Tongliao City, Xilingol League and Hulunbuir City; It borders Mongolia in the northwest, with a border line of 126 kilometers. There is an international seasonal open port from China's Arxan to Mongolia. The total area is nearly 60,000 square kilometers, and the total population is 1.64 million. The minority population accounts for 49%, of which the Mongolian population accounts for 44%. It is a region with a high proportion of Mongolian population in China. In 1980, Hinggan League resumed its League organizational system and now governs two cities (Ulanhot City and Arxan City), three banners (Horqin Right Front Banner, Horqin Right Middle Banner, and Jalaid Banner), and one county (Tuquan County). Arxan City and Horqin Right Front Banner are border banner and city, and Ulanhot City is the seat of the League Government.
